1. Sicelo Masuku

    Position: Finance Committee

    Portfolio: Portfolio Head

The trust is a section 18A NPO and we are a substructure of the fund which means our financial reporting has to be at least in line with the trust. I believe as a trainee CA, I have adequate knowledge on the different reporting requirements as it’s what I do on a daily basis.  Being a finance head requires more than availability and willingness, one has to have the technical expertise in order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of his/her the department.

For an example, you need to know the different controls that has to be in place and how to evaluate their effectiveness. Evidenced by my education background I believe I have the adequate technical expertise to perform all the expected duties at a competitive level.

I am a man governed by principles of ethical behaviour and as a trainee CA, I am expected to follow the SAICA code of conduct at all times, that will have a positive influence of how I carry out my everyday duties as the finance head of the Alumni.

Above all, I have a desire to serve in the Alumni, transfer skills and aid to the effectiveness of the of the organization. One thing that is in my heart is to see more young people get to realize their dreams.

Thank you for the nomination, which I humbly accept.
